Shelby and Drew Expecting {Atlanta Area Maternity Photographer}

Little girl will make three in a few weeks.

Piedmont Park is walking distance from the Van Pelt’s and the site of Shelby’s daily run. One of their (and my) favorite places in Atlanta. So happy to get to meet them down there and capture just about the cutest pregnancy I’ve ever seen.

Mandy - Omg these are so beautiful!!! I’ve been a fan a long time… now you’ve cemented my groupie status.

The Gary Family {Atlanta Area Family Photographer}

Luca was not my greatest fan. And it killed me…he is so adorable. All I wanted to do was pinch those cheeks of his.

He thought I was his preschool teacher coming to take him to school. And he definitely did not want to go to school.

Lesson learned…do not approach the cars of my clients from in the same manner that preschool teachers do during carpool. 🙂

Still such a fun session and it is not every session that I need to call in the big guns…had to let loose my golden retriever from the car to coax some smiles out of Luca.

Grey Matter Life.

My friend Jennifer has a MRI’s every three months. She needs them to check on the brain tumor that she lovingly calls “piece of shit”.

She’s amazing. I’ll let her tell you a little more about why…

I’m Jennifer.

Wife to Paul and mother to three children and three rescue dogs. I’m also an advocate, volunteer and Domestic Goddess (I jest) of everything in-between in a place I fondly refer to as “crazyland”.

Oh, yeah… there’s this: I’ve got a brain tumor. Well, let’s be honest…shit happens and it could be worse.

An Infultrating Grade II Astrocytoma that was removed from my right temporal lobe August 18, 2008. As I gracefully referenced above, shit happens and you just have to clean up the disastrous mess, jump back into the thick of it and live life. Life keeps on going and laundry needs to get done…and damn if that’s not true!

In addition to being a patient advocate, fellow vest enthusiast, talented photographer, and funny lady she keeps a blog, Grey Matter Life, about her journey.

We invite you to join us on our journey while we share our adventures, highs and lows and general life chaos as we navigate the newest chapter in our lives. This is a chapter, not the entire story. My tumor is not who I am and not what my life is about, it is simply a chapter in the book that is my life…there are better things to come.

She’s the strongest person I’ve ever known. She asked me to shoot her latest MRI (no new growth!). Here are the images.

Lisa Edney - What a beautiful touching documentary of Jennifer. Happy the results were no new growth: praying for healing…

Mandy - Kate, this is fantastic. You have such an eye for the little details that few others have. You are an inspiration.

Christina Kori - Kate, these pictures of Jennifer are some of the most touching photos I have seen in a long time. Thank you so much for sharing them. My mother had cancer and even though the stress of it is heartbreaking, these photos reminded me of the victories and the defeats and the season in my life that I shared with my mom. God bless, Christina

Oh Lardy {Atlanta Area Commercial Photographer}

Back in the pretty fall months, I had the great chance to photograph the exceptionally beautiful ladies who put out the blog “Oh Lardy“. Besides the awesome name (and logo, love their logo), Oh Lardy has some great tips and recipes on their blog. The goal of Oh Lardy is the share their journey through the Real Food world, educate others about Real Food and demonstrate how easy it is to make changes to eating habits and styles.

Not bad. 🙂
