…it’s been a while since I’ve updated the blog.
Poor neglected blog.
Deal with it, blog. I’ve been busy.
Good busy. Overwhelming busy. ThoughtIhadahandleonitbutIwasohsowrong busy.
No complaints here, though! All very wonderful opportunities presenting at the same time kind of thing. And by same time, I mean the fall, my busiest season time. Oof.
Hello children, my name is mommy. Remember me?
So what kind of things, you ask? 😉
Family sessions, which I love. So much fun. This is my second year doing family sessions and I love them, love meeting the kids, messing around, making the kids smile (hopefully). Trying to make a picture for a card special, different, reflective of that family is always a challenge and I say bring it!
Writing a book. Well, okay, not really a book, but to this non-writer, it felt like it. 70 pages! Written by my own childlike hands (they really do look like the hands of a 10 year old boy). My blood, sweat and tears (more like diet sunkist, peanut butter and sure, tears) went into the breakout that Clickin Moms asked me to write. I dreaded the heck out of it, but then when I got around to actually writing the dang thing, I loved it. “Creating and Recognizing Opportunities” is available 1/8/13 for download and you do not have to be a member of CM, although they do rock the house and I’d recommend it. I talk about a ton of stuff in there, how I edit, how I shoot, there’s a video of me editing, my workflow, etc. Sign up to be notified as soon as you can get it here.
Commercial work…I love this. This is like “real” work for me. During school hours, gotta love that. Headshots for businesses, images of interiors, and get this, a national campaign. Seriously. I about died when I got it. This is ongoing, but I will post images as soon as I can…
The Showcase School (where I took my first photography class!) asked me if I wouldn’t mind doing an artist talk and they’d do a show of my work. I was all over the second part of that! A show??? Hell yes! Talking in front of people I don’t know? Me? Um, um, um, um….okay. Please, please come out if you’re in ATL and say hi. I’d love to picture you naked on January 12th. More details here.
So, that’s where I’ve been…pretty much at my desk with the space heater cranked high enough to singe off my leg hair off since mid October editing my face off. Yes, I am faceless now. And hairless.
