Summer is over. And I, for one, am sad. Starting tomorrow at 6:15 am, the “beep, beep, beep” of the dreaded alarm slings us unwillingly back to the school grind.
Gone are the days of staying in our pj’s until we get in our bathing suits at 11 when the pool opens. Adios to snoozing until 8 and then cuddling and snuggling in bed until 8:45. No more “so what do we want to do today, ladies?” at breakfast. Fairy hunting, mermaid playing are all relegated to post school, weekend activities now.
The hours to fill, the constant messes around the house are a trade I would take any day to have both of my girls home.
We certainly made the most of our short, hot Atlanta summer though. Some of my favorite summer pictures follow.
“Fall is here, hear the yell
back to school, ring the bell
brand new shoes, walking blues
climb the fence, book and pens
i can tell that we are gonna be friends” (-White Stripes)
